Khaz watched her and smiled back. "Yeah... It is." He stood too, watching her with his red orbs.

Akela stared at him. "So, what makes you a loner? Choice or matter of circumstance?" She asked curiously. "But as seeing as this is no-man's land, we're not exactly safe here." She added just so he'd have to explain more.

Akela looked at him. "Well, I'm sure if you stay here by the river, you might." She tilted her head. "Just a thought."

Khaz shrugged. "Maybe.." He sighed softly and turned to her. There was something about her... He didn't want her to go. Khaz wanted her to stay with him. But he couldn't say it.

Akela grinned. "Right now, I'm in no condition to do much. But after some rest, I could help." She giggled softly.

Khaz smiled, still looking at the water. "You don't have to help me, beautiful." He felt his tail brush her fur softly and quickly wrapped it around his paws.

She smiled. "But I do need to rest. I'm doing all I can to stay standing. Know of any place I can sleep?" She asked hopefully.

Khaz nodded softly. "Follow me." He started walking slowly, glancing back at her as he went. Soon he came across his small cave that he had been calling home. "It's not much, but feel free to make yourself at home." He sat outside the cave and watched her.
