Akela had been wandering the country side for about a year now. Her soul itself was becoming exhausted. It was hard being a nomad, whether she chose to be or not. She just needed a place to call her own, but no one was going to let her do that unless she became a part of the pack, and who was going to do that, certainly not her. She found a place to rest by the river, which was considered no-man's land.

Khaz walked toward the river to get a drink. He stopped for a moment and sniffed the air. Lifting his head, he saw a white female resting by the river. He lingered there a moment, watching her, suddenly not wanting her to see him. He lingered back, using the bushes for cover.

Akela looked up thinking she heard something, but she didn't see anything. She lied her head back down and rested some more.

It wasamazing just to see another wolf. Khaz had been lonely for so long now, and here was this female, just like a dream. He smiled and wagged his tail, watching as she lied her head down to rest.

Akela sighed as it felt good to rest. She'd been moving around for so long. Why was she forced to settle for the comfort of the unclaimed territory. If of course you'd use the word "comfort".

Khaz lied on the ground watching her. He hated to disturb her, but he didn't want her to wander off, never knowing he was there. So he got up slowly and padded over silently, stopping halfway.

Akela's ears twitched, as she heard something behind her. She didn't bother to look up, she'd probably welcome death a lot more than moving around.

Khaz walked closer, noticing how her ears twitched. She had heard him. "I won't hurt you," he called to her and smiled, stopping in front of her.

Akela looked over at him lazily. "Forgive me if I wish you would. I'm too exhausted to do any sort of fighting or even hunting." She smiled slightly.

Khaz smiled. "Don't worry, I was just happy to see another wolf around. Especially one as beautiful as yourself." He sat down and watched her. "My names Khaz, and you are?"

She lied her head down on her paws and watched him. "My name is Akela." She smiled as Khaz seemed charming.

Khaz waggd his tail. "Beautiful name for a beautiful wolf." He watched her lie there for a moment before speaking again. "So your a loner?"

"Forced to be." She said softly. "I've been looking for a place to settle, but its all in their territories." She sighed. "So, here I am."

Khaz nodded at her. "I'm a loner too... But I've been..." He shook his head. "It's not important." He look at the ground.
