"Well... My father is Nemesis, the leader of the eradicators," he shivered a little, thinking of Nemesis. "and well..." He looked down at this point. "When, uh... He raped his niece, Nyx, they had six pups. One of them being me.. Nemesis kicked me out for being part air." He looked up at her, about to say the worst part of the story. Well, the worst to him. Because what would she think? "And later I... Met a female. I fell in love with her, but I got angry and... killed her. And.. that's all there is to say." He had small tears falling from his eyes.

[Natika]

Freya would have felt bad for asking him to tell her, had she not been so curious. "I'm sorry, that's a sad story." She couldn't think of anything else to say. Trying to be a comfort, she licked his cheek again and smiled comfortingly at him.

[.::. Nemesis .::.]

"Yeah.. It is. I never even should have been born. But it's okay, I make the best of it." He shrugged, trying to forget about it. He didn't want to make her pity him or anything, but it was true. Him and his siblings were accidents. Nemesis had raped Nyx in angerm and they should never have been born. He nuzzled against Freya.

[Natika]

"Well if you hadn't been born, you would've never met me... right?" She looked at him with a hint of uncertainty in her voice. Nuzzling him back, she leaned into him, smiling despite herself.

[.::. Nemesis .::.]

He smiled. "True." He licked her cheek. "Maybe my past was pretty bad, but everything that happened led me here to you." He was good at thinking positive.

[Natika]

She smiled, nuzzling her mate. "I love you, Rubix." Even though she felt as though she knew so little about him, at the same time she felt like she couldn't know anyone better.

[.::. Nemesis .::.]

"I love you too," he replied, nuzzling her back and wagging his tail. He wondered about her past, but decided not to press her. If she wanted to tell him, she would.

[Natika]

"Oh," she started, "and if you ever want to know... my past... Just ask. I'll tell you whatever you want to know." Frey smiled at Rubix, her tail wagging.

[.::. Nemesis .::.]

"I want to know everything about you," he said. "But I won't make you tell me anything."

[Natika]

"Well you want to know, so that's good enough." She sat down and looked at the moon, took a deep breath, then back to Rubix. "I'd always been a loner as a pup and as I grew up, and my parents didn't like it. I had a male that I loved dearly, and I told him everything - how I felt about my parents, how I felt about.. well... anything. My parents finally grew fed up with my un-packlike behavior, so they pitted me in a fight to the death against my brother..." Freya held back the choking sobs in her throat. "I won... then my parents became angry with me and banished me from the pack. My lover deserted me and gave me this scar," she motioned to the long pale line running from her tale to her hind leg, "as a parting gift."

[.::. Nemesis .::.]

Rubix licked her cheek and nuzzled her. "That's horrible. But I promise, I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure the future's not so bad as the past." He smiled a little, thinking they both deserved some happiness after how the rest of their life had went. They deserved.. Each other.

[Natika]

"I will, too," Freya said with a smile. She nipped gently at Rubix's thick furred neck and sat down.

[.::. Nemesis .::.]

Rubix smiled back and licked her cheek. "With you around, I know the future will be better."

[Natika]

Freya giggled under her breath and looked at her new mate. What she'd done to be so lucky, she would never know. She collapsed onto the grass again and let her tongue flop out the side of her mouth.

Rubix watched her and laid himself down on the grass beside her. He felt different with her. Not at all like his old self. And maybe that was a good thing. He had no doubt in his mind that she could be good for him.
